I noticed on the port side of my engine there is a right angle hose fitting on the rocker cover with no hose attached. According to parts diagram it shows a hose but doesn't show where other end connects to? Anyone any idea? The other rocker cover has the pcv valve in.1000051449.jpg

Looking back over some of your past threads of engine issues in those areas you've worked on 'it would seem maybe you accidently removed the hose and overlooked a reconnection possibly.

Often the pcv valve hose runs from a barb fitting located on either the intake manifold immediately behind the MPI throttle body type or to a intake base type adaptor of the TBI or the Carburetor depending.

The breather hose fitting often connects to the flame arrestor itself or the cover holder flat spots or the like... Should be item number 29 in your case being your serial number is 0W633284, https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassemblydetail/43949004/28193894

A good guide of it here,

From here if desired while seeing A and B notes,

Maybe adding an overall photo of your engine with the top plastic cover removed could help some too.

Thanks for your detailed response & highlighting the likely hose & its connection point which is most helpful.
Yes I did remove rocker cover that side when I was investigating the stuck lifters but cant remember a hose but it was a couple of years ago. I will go out to boat tomorrow & check & get back to you.

My flame arrester looks like this below with nowhere to attach a hose unless I am missing something. also pic showing throttle body. Given the number of things I found wrong wih this boat after I bought it doesn't surprise me! Thanks for your help.

That and water's been getting in somehow.
I used to think those plastic covers were silly, but I have found a few times, water on top of the flame arrestor, so I bought one for my old 4bbl V6 Cobra. water can leak in around the swim platform over the engine and run back and drip right onto the carb. Going to fab up a gasket with a washer where the cover fits over the carb stud.
