I may have asked this before but it is a nagging question.
In Mercruiser manual 17 there is a reference to a pilot bushing that says "if old pilot bushing is to be reused" and goes on to explain how to pack the old bushing with grease to run a cylindrical dowel down the middle and hydraulically force it out.
My engine is out for refresh right now and I want to do everything possible to eliminate vibration. So I'd gladly install a bushing if it would assist in centering the coupler.
Have any of you come across this?
