Boat is an 03 cruiser with Mercruiser 350 mag MPI and Bravo 3.
The engine starts but only with slight neutral throttle up followed by audible 2 tones soft alarm every minuet or so.
I read this is part of Mercury Marine's Engine Guardian System whereby it monitors Low Oil Pressure, High Coolant Temperature, Low Drive Lube, Low Sea Water Pressure, Low Voltage, Over-rev control, Knock Control. What else?
I have check all above short of knock control. Also know for a fact that over speed function has not taken place as the boat has never seen engine revving anywhere near 5000rpm.
Last month I suspected water in fuel scenario for hard to start condition so fuel water separator filter once again changed and no problems since.
So. I read I need a diagnostic tool to troubleshoot. Where can I buy one? where does it interface at? An available The triple nickle ECM connector ports?
Can the ECM be reset to try again? the vessel has battery kill switch so unless a source of power remains to 555 then it should have already reset right?
Help me please fellow boaters. Don't wish to pull vessel for this and Allatoona's Marine max is gone and new regime is slammed and don't know them at all!
