I was trolled around for a couple hours than went to the fast side of the lake after about 6 minutes of full throtle it started to slow down I emedeitly cut gas put in nutral and it died steam was coming out of the water drain I pulled the cover off looked like steam was coming from head gasket too. tryed to pull cord the moter was locked up.threw my anker in than tryed the pull start again it moved and pumped water let moter cool a little than tryed too start it stated for about a minute than died. after being towed to ramp I put it on the trailer and noticed watery oil coming from top end of the lower unit could this be related or something else ether way I have to fix it. the impeller was replaced last year I would like a good check list for moning.
thanks for looking

Do check your thermostat, your impeller and all the cooling line connections and grommets.Make sure everything is working well, clean and no place where water can escape the system.
As for you compression, don't panic (just yet).By what you write about steam coming from your head gasket,it may very well be the reason for the difference in compression.
Take the head off and check the gasket and while you are at it see if your cylinder is (badly) scoured.Gut feeling tells me that it is not.Maybe all it needs is to be honed a bit
Replace the head gasket and check your compression again, and let us know what you find

Pull the head plate and inspect/replace the gasket. Make sure the head is true(flat).
What year is motor? Thermostat is normally in the head. Some have a cover. Some require removing the head plate to reach.

"some scoring" can mean a lot of different things for different engines.
If you can, post some pictures along with the model# of your engine. That would help a lot at this point.
