I have a 1985 35 HP Mercury. It starts great every time. When I give it full throttle it goes fine then bogs down but picks back up in a few seconds. I don't touch anything. If you hit the choke when it bogs it will shut down.
The motor is in awesome shape and was kept in a garage for its whole life. The background is as follows. Bought the boat in Jan. Ran perfect when I got it but was not run for about 7 years prior. Then the float stuck. Had the water pump changed and carbs rebuilt.
Motor started right up after the rebuild. But after motor ran for a bit it stalled running and tough to start. Mechanic said to adjust the air/fuel mixture because ethenol sometimes is an issue and usually fixes it. It was set at 1 1/2 turns out from him. I backed it way out over a few trips almost to the point of it being loose. That didn't fix the issue. I turned it all the way back in to 2 turns out. Still not fixing the issue. Motor does not stall at all but any Ideas?
