35 hp johnson not sparking

I bought a 35 hp johnson the same looking as my 1978 25hp johnson, i bought it because i want the electric start , but when i got it the motor was extremely clean, i did compression tests it has great compression but when i checked for spark, it didnt have 1, what could be wrong with it?

Start by disconnecting the shorting switch (motor stop button) and test, the switch could be shorted inside causing it to ground the ignition.


Second thing to check if that's not it is connectors going to and from the powerpack and powerpack ground.
