hi all , got another ? for all you experts. my 1984 35 hp rude, when i get it going , i can run it from idle to wot no problem back and forth for about 20-30 min. then she seems to start having troubles, if i go back to low speed or idle , and try to open it back up it is like it wont take its fuel, and stalls. after friggin with the fuel mixture switch and manually working the throttle while someone turns the key i can get her going again, and get it reved up half decent, and run to the gear lever and throw it in foward quick and take off, works fine while opened up, but then slack off the throttle again, and she dies and i have the same 5 or 10 minutes of friggin with it to get it going again. {phew} that was a mouthfull i know , sorry :( any ideas on what might cause this problem ? thanks in advance guys.

First, I'd find Joe Reeves instructions on setting the low (idle) jet. It's been posted several times, so do a search. Once it's set correctly, leave it alone. Then if you have problems, check the link and sync. If that's set correctly, you probably need to remove, clean, and rebuild the carb. If you don't have one already, you need to get a manual.

Link & sync is the process of adjustinmg all the linkages (timing & carbs) so the are operating correctly. As BoatBouy mentioned, get a manual. The link & sync process is described in them. Good luck.
