question ?? i have no breather/box /filter ..... or nothing over / infront of my carb, its wide open. should there be a breather box or something on it ??

You don't mention the year, Jake.<br /><br />Very few outboards have baffles in front of the carbs, and those are more for silencing that anything else.<br /><br />As long as you avoid dust storms on the water you have no worries. <br /><br />Good luck.

thanks for the reply , im not sure of the year .... where can i find the serial # on this rude machine ? i cannot seeem to locate it.

There should be a plate on the front just under the hood with the serial and model number. Sometimes things do happen to these plates and you might be able to find the serial number on one of the engine plugs, they look just like freeze plugs on a automobile engine just smaller.
