35 hp evenude dosnt like to go slow

when trying to troll it will sneese its very concictent like rrrrrrrrKrrrrrrrrKrrrrrrrrK but if you go a little faster its fine it go top speed no problem I just cant go slow or idle low I have recently rebuit carb and replaced coils and power pack. please help thank you

Likely still carb. Low speed adjustment (if it has one) or gum/varnish in you low speed circuit.

Did you use compressed air and chase with a very fine wire?

35R76G is a 1976 JOHNSON, not Evinrude, you have an adjustable slow speed needle. Read, carb setting in TOP SECRET FILE, 1st thread in this forum.

Very interesting. The parts list does not show a 314166 bearing in the 35hp carb for that year. But it does show it for the 25hp, same year. Anybody know for sure if it is supposed to be in there on the 35?

Anyhow, the "bearing" is actually a "seal" around the slow speed needle, and if it leaks it will suck air and cause it to cough and snort at idle.

I assume you did try simply opening the needle some more? That might be all it takes.

You could also have a leaking lower crankshaft seal, but let's not assume that till the obvious has been checked.

went down yo local outbord repair place and talked to owner he sayed to look around the intake manifold gaskets. When I sprayed carb cleaner on the right side of intake it killed the motor im now going to replace intake gaskets.thanks for telling me it a johnson closer inspection of plait sayed johnson it has a evinrude cover that threw me off. thankyou for the ideis guys.
