I have a 19b 84 35hp Chrysler and I need a carb for it as my old one is torn up. I was wondering if the carb on my engine was used on other engines. I'm having trouble finding a carb for my engine and and found one for a 70hp chrysler. would this work?

Thanks Much, Dan

Re: 35 HP carb.

MAYBE! The carb itself should physically fit the mounting studs.

However: Since the 70 carb serviced one cylinder with 24 cubic inches and I think the 35 was slightly more for two cylinders, There may be a slight power loss.you would probably need to adjust the idle mixture needle. But be careful: Too lean and the engine will melt a piston.

Under the float on the main casting will be a number indicating venturi size. It will most likely be 1 3/16 on the 70 carb. If the 35 carb is the same venturi size, you will probably not notice any difference.
