Can anyone advise me on finding a 35-50 hp tiller control used motor? I've looked everywhere (ebay and every google search possible) and have yet to get close.
Thanks

What part of the country are you in? I bet the guy who does my outboard repair has something, but he's out of town for a couple of weeks.

What kind of boat are you trying to power and how old of a motor and how much do you want to spend. I'm sure you can find one somewhere, especially in the 35-40hp range. If you are looking at older motors, you may be able to convert a remote equipped motor to a tiller.

try looking where commercial fishermen and hunters are; that's a little large for a tiller for most recreational boaters

Why tiller? I hope your arms are younger than mine. My left arm was ready to fall off after running my 35 hp tiller for half an hour. Went to remote with some ebay parts-will never till' again!

In my neck of the woods, way over half of the local boats are used for fishing and a lot of guys prefer tillers, myself included. I've seen tillers up to 115hp, but that's getting a little much for me! Wouldn't mind trying one out, though!

my 40 johnson with a tiller isn't particuarly hard on my arm, except for sunburn on my hand. I suspect the trim tab needed adjusting.
The tiller is great for crabbing. I will admit sometimes I wouldn't mind being a little farther from the engine because of the noise. It can be hard to talk to other people when running, but doesn't bother me otherwise.
