Howdy, I'm not sure of my engine year but I think it's an 84 but here are the part numbers if anybody can confirm the year that would be great.

Model:357H4P
Serial:110

Anyways I ordered a 30HP carb off of ebay, from what the seller says it came off an engine from an 82. Will this carb work on my engine. What performance decrease will I see if any.

Thanks, Dan

The motor is a 35 hp and it is from 1984. The carb on your motor is a WB 30A and the carb off of a 1982 is a WB17C. The carbs look different and I doubt it will hook up right with your motor
This is 1982 carb

I agree it looks different ,...you'll know better when you have them side by side , since you have already ordered it..good luck with it , maybe it will work with some modifications to your throttle linkage...lets us know... wouldn't be the first time something has been modified to work...if it was me,and it bolted up correctly, heck , I would try and make it work..if not , re-sell it on e-bay
you might try this site if this doesn't work out for you...

Re: 30 HP carb on 35HP engine.

Thanks for the info guys. Any ways I'll see if it bolts up and fits to the intake manifold. The reason for the new carb is because the person I bought the motor from overtightened the low speed jet and the tip of the jet broke off in the threads and I can't really drill out a carb so I had to order a replacement. Any ways they call me the master of jerry rigging I can take apart the old carb and i think that I should be able to use some of the parts off it to connect the the throttle. Im guessing im gonna lose five hp though lol.

Thanks, Dan

The carb is coming in today. Does anybody know what kind of plugs I need for this motor.

Thanks, Dan

Champion L82C are probably the best cross to the L4J they used to use. That is the plug that Mercury is suggesting for your motor.
