Hello,

I just swapped out my dual 86 V4 140 Johnson's for a single 1999 225 Evinrude. In hooking up the motor, I've got the motor mounted T&T switch working, but I can't get the one on the dash to work. It worked before on the 86's. The dash switch is a 3 wire setup. I'm confused...what am I doing wrong? Will a three wire dash switch work on a two wire T&T? If so, why will one work and not the other. I look forward to any help. I'm learning a great deal from all of you...thanks for that.

PS-Batteries good...just cleaned and tightened connections.

Re: 3 wire T&T switch

Red wire to switch is the incoming 12 volt source.

Green wire is outgoing 12v to up mode.

Blue wire is outgoing 12v to down mode.

That's two (2) wires leading to the PTT.
