im just toying with the idea that the fibre glass covers on the 1968 3hp wouldit mount on my 64 evinrude with a tin cover or are there things like motor is different and starters and choke knobs in different places. I was toying with this idea as the engine is to hard to get at with the tin covers, i always scratch it or bend it.

Thanks

Re: 3 hp cover

Tough one - you would need the starter and the flywheel from the '68. But I don't think there's a boss on the '64 to accept the '68 starter. The '64 starter would poke up through the hood if you tried to use it. (I like the '64 starter better though).
You'd have to rob the lower cowl too, and come up with some way to mount it.

Mabey thumbscrews for the '64 tin covers would be better. Or invent some cool way of hingeing them off the tank support. Gull wings mabey? :D

Tell us what you come up with! And welcome to Iboats!
