#3 cylinder not firing

I have a 04 50hp merc 2-stroke my boat was swamped 2 months ago motor was not submerged, but now the # 3 cylinder (3 cylinder motor) gets spark but dones not fire. (wet plug after running) My manual tells me it should only be the cdm module but is there any thing else I should check before spending the money. Experence tells me it's almost always something missed. thanks

If the engine has run properly since the sinking then it's probably not related. If the engine has spark it should at lest idle on the CDM module has you tryed squirting fuel in the bottom carb, to see if that changes the problem. Remember if the engine has a bad CDM it's ussally not the one that quits firing it's the one that acts as the ground for the one that don't fire.
