3.8L oil pressure

i have a '85 searay with twin 3.8L V6's and OMC 800 series drives....both motors carry low oil pressure (just above red on gauges), both motors run great....just wondering if low oil pressure was normal for these engines.....both have hour meters that read about 800 hours, time for rebuilds??

I would start by putting a shop gauge or a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the engines to see exactly what the pressure is. I don't know omc specs, but for instance Merc says as low as 4 pounds at idle and 30 or more at 2000 rpm's is OK.
