Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me how to bend rubber fuel line at 90 degrees without causing it to kink. Can you heat it with a lighter and form the hose into a 90 degree bend. I only need a piece about 2 inches long. Can you buy a piece that long with a 90 deg bend already?

Thanks for the help.

Just buy a brass 90* fitting at your local parts house or hardware store...

Be careful of the fittings. Cheap ones are way small inside where it makes the bend in the corner. A quality one will maintain a 3/8" ID all the way.

Thanks DH

Speaking of small inside diameters...can I use the TEMPO fuel filter (Glass) that Walmart sells?

Will it cause a restriction in the volume of fuel that passes through it?

You don't need 2 filters, but it wouldn't hurt. Remember, you only had one to begin with before you installed the seporator filter. :)

Another way to achieve a sever bend in a gas line without kinking it is to install a door spring inside the hose. Find a non-galvinized tight-wound spring at your local hardware store. Take a section a couple inches shorter than the house in question. Pull the spring to beyond the return point so that it stays stretched. Now install the proper length of it inside the hose. It's diameter will hold the hose open around corners - within reason.
- Scott
