3.7 mercruiser 170 oil leak

I have a very slight leak in the rear part of the engine, facing the transom.

the oil has been sweating out for what looks like years, didnt really notice it when I bought the 1985 boat.

what is in the rear of the engine? after cruising for a few hours, there are some drops of oil in the bilge. doesnt look like there is much and the oil level in the engine is always checked and full.

Rear main seal?......
Get a mirror & a flashlight & see if you can get a better look at it.....​

I finally had the marina mechanic check it out.

he determined it was the oil pressure sending unit leaking.

the gasket was leaking. so he removed it, fixed the leak.

so hopefully that is it. after I clean the bilge and clean the engine, I will post back.
