1987 lund baron 3.7 mercruiser 180. i am replacing the motor in this boat. i bought a donor boat for the engine. my boat had the alternator conversion and the donor boat did not. i pulled the pulley off the front of the rotor/stator and there are two pins with corresponding holes drilled in the face of that rotor. i am assuming to line up the pulley since there is a lot of slop in the bolt holes. any tips on lining that pulley up on the donor motor?

Re: 3.7 alternator swap

the holes were drilled in the face of part 7 in that diagram. through the pulley that bolts on and runs alt belt and into that part 7. when i mount the pulley to the face of that part 7 it is very sloppy. the holes in the pulley are bigger than the bolts. so im trying to figure out how to line that pulley up and then i can drill into the face of that part 7 and install those pins.
