I am thinking about changing the prop on my 1995 Sea-Pro 210 WA. Powered by a 3.0LX mercruiser. Current prop is 15.5 x 15. WOT is 4800 rpm. At WOT the boat will run appx. 26 mph. Any suggestions. I am looking for a little more speed and better fuel economy. Thanks.

Re: 3.0Lx prop change

I think it depends a lot on the weight of your boat, and of course your application. I have an open bow Bayliner 1950 that does not weigh much. With my AQ125 I have found that both a 14.25 X 17 and a 14.25 X 19 work pretty well. The 14.25 X 17 gives ma a little more speed, but the 14.25 X 19 has a better hole shot.

juancho, the 17 pitch should provide a better hole shot. Is it the other way around??

I think Juancho has his #s backwards.....
Mike, you can Probabaly pull a 17", but I doubt you can pull 19"....
Proping you motor to run about 4500rpms will be the Most efficent you can get....

Mike I have the same exact boat and I have a 19 pitch SS prop and I do 31 mph @ 4100 rpms I got the prop in Solomons but its in the shop right now for a couple problems Ill see what happens when the boat is fixed .Does it seem like your boat is "front" heavy"? as in if you wash it in the water all the water goes to the front ? I keep my boat in the water and when it rains hevy I get about 3-4 inches at the seats and it goes into the cabin Email me and we can talk about other problems

Re: 3.0Lx prop change

Mattup; thanks for the reply. Yes, the 210WA Sea-Pro with the 3.0 LX is bow heavy. I believe that is because the boat was designed for more H.P. and the 3.0 is to light to bring the bow up where it belongs when anchored or tied up to the dock. Yes, I do get water standing at the cuddy door, what a pain to have to mop or sweep every time I get aboard. I keep my boat in the water also, at Swan Point. My e-mail address is OldDogMikeH@comcast.net I just replaced the exhaust manifold and riser elbow on my engine after getting water in the oil. E-mail me and let me know what your boat is doing and we can swap info. Thanks.

Hard to beleive Searay put a 3.0 in a 21ft boat. Seems WAY under powered. Good luck on your propping, Hope you find something that works.
