Help Me Please!.... I Have A 1996 Stingray With A 3.0l Mercruiser Motor. The Starter Went (at Least I Thought So) And It Would Just Make A Spinning Noise, Sounded Like It Was Throwing The Gear Out But Not Spinning The Flywheel. I Replaced The Starter And It Did The Same Thing With The New Starter. Had Both Starters Tested At Autozone (both Passed?!?!?) Put New Starter In And It Worked Fine......now The New Starter Is Up To Its Old Tricks. Pulled Starter And Had It Tested Again And It Passed.... Back In And Same Problem. I Watched The Flywheel As The Starter Is Initiated And It Jumps Ahead Slightly, It Also Looks Like The Outside Of The Flywheel Is Slightly Chewed Up. Other Than That It Looks Like It Was Engaging Properly When It Works. Could It Be Too Close And Needs A Shim Or Two..is The Gear Not Lining Up With The Flywheel And Spinning Outside The Ring Gear.........any Help Would Be Appreciated! Thanks Everyone
