Recently i inherited a 1993 Starcraft, it came equipped with a 3.0l & a alpha 1. The engine runs quite well, put it under a heavey tourqe load (big prop lots of weight) and it damm near dug a new channel and no audible knocking or pinging was present.

So i have done plug's,wires, and have checked the timing all are good....(and oil& elec engnition)

As to the power trim it all seems tight,i have drained and flushed the whole system.

There are vey few grease zerks and have hit all the visible ones,it did take a little searching though.

That leaves the out drive, i have drained the lower unit no moisture present in the oil nor any shaving's that i could detect. However i could not find any way to lubricate the upper half that is from where the engine and drive uint mate. There has to be some kind of servie there, and the only zerk i could find was on what appeared to be a drive shaft inside the boat nothing on the external unit itself and there's a 90 degree turn there......... Umm Greaseless....

Yes i am or have ordered a manual, and as useful as they are, most all manual's do have a bit of (proproganda)

Is there and im sure there are any major systems' here that i have over looked...... Yes i may be looking for quick answers and to a extent i am, but there is no substitute for experience and hard knocks.......... ;)

Edit: There is one oddity i have encounterd with starting.......It's a solid starting engine with muff's now take it to a river or lake and it's one cold blooded hard starting turkey. Electronic choke seems to working (fully closed) yet i doubt that is the problem some kind of funky tempature inversion thing......Vapor lock some place..........

Well it seems a alignment tool is in order here. Im sure the one time cost will far out run the cost of having a trained tech to do as much. Thank you very much for the link.
