Anyone know where to find one of these? My Google searches are coming up empty...
probably posted in the wrong section. Hint: its the same block as mercruiser. All GM. michiganmotorz should have them. They are getting hard to find though, because GM recently discontinued the 3.0.Anyone know where to find one of these? My Google searches are coming up empty...
Will a long block 3.0 mercruiser be plug and play with the sx outdrive and motor brackets to?probably posted in the wrong section. Hint: its the same block as mercruiser. All GM. michiganmotorz should have them. They are getting hard to find though, because GM recently discontinued the 3.0.
This thread isnt as well liked... Engine guys are engine guys when it comes down to it.You might want to post your question on the Volvo forum in the engine and drives.

I personally don't know; that's why I suggested posting your question in the link I posted earlier. There will be people who there who are more apt to have a correct answer for youSo i found one at Michigan Motorz
3.0L Marine Engine (1990-2018)
This 3.0L marine engine (1990-2018) has been professionally remanufactured to meet or exceed GM OEM marine engine stock specifications. ONE-PIECE rear main seal. It is a standard rotation GM marine engine and a direct replacement for 1990-2018 applicationwww.michiganmotorz.com
Will this block work if i took everything off my volvo engine and put it on this one?
Thanks Scott. So if I am on the 1991 and up side this being an 2004 I just want one being newer then 91 to be safe. Also here is pics of my 2500 boat. Def. Does have crack in manifold I don't see anything else I am going to change manifold and see if that's all this takes to fix it.. there Is a hairline crack in block to. I'm going to try jb weld. Oil looks good though still.all 3.0 motors start out as a GM industrial engine. the longblocks are all the same as long as you get similar year. 1990 was a transition year where the whole motor was redesigned and retooled. so make sure you are on the same side of the transition.
what changes is the engine mounts, fuel system (the whole intake and exhaust manifold), the cooling system and electrical system. basically everything bolted to the outside of the block and head
Yes the 1990 and up 3.0 will work for your application, you will also need the manifold and check the power steering cooler as that is probably busted too.S

All things considered hull is in "new condition" no tears no soft spots. So I think the 2500 I paid for it is good deal. All electronics work and trailer is in like new condition comes with brakes and brand new tires still has the smell and the hairs on them well did before I dragged it 100 miles home that is..
The thing that strikes me as being weird is the boat was kept in his garage and he says it typically doesn't get below 40 degrees. And you could tell it was a finished garage so the whole thing is really weird to me.
I'm hoping a manifold where that excessive crack and jb weld can fix it otherwise I'm going to overhaul it with a michigan motorz crate engine I think.
Need to do some research on doing it myself if I go that route either way I'll need a manifold
