HI,
My name is Ryan from Darlington SC. I bought a 91 Bay Liner 2050 back in May for peanuts that needed some engine work and the trailer needed serious attention. I replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, and condenser. The tank was full of bad gas and the carb was toast. Now 3 months later I get her purring like a kitten and the trailer repaired. Went on the maiden cruise and the boat ran great. However, when idling thru a no wake zone or approaching the dock, the temp creeps up to 200-205 degrees. Under way, temp stays at 170-180. Now the lake we were in is very warm (water used to cool nuclear reactor). Could this be why the temp was a little warm? Or another issue maybe? I'm thinking of replacing the T-stat any way. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
