Hello,

New to boating, I have a 1988 Bayliner Capri with a 3.0 OMC, and a long story behind it. I ordered a OMC manual online today, but I would like to know if someone can tell me what the compression should be. I searched the internet and came up with alot of different specs anywhere from 100 - 175 psi being acceptable. I have more questions, but for today the right spec would be great if anyone knows. It has a Cobra outdrive.

Thanks,
wango

Ayuh,.... 150 to 175psi is a Strong tight motor....
125 to 150 is yer average runnin' motor....
100 to 125psi is a runnin' Core motor, ready for a Rebuild....
Under 100 psi, it probably don't run, 'n might be rebuildable...
