I need the size of oil filter for my 3.0. Does it matter if I use a fram filter

I wouldn't use fram. Wix, NAPA (made by Wix) AC Delco, but never fram

Ayuh,..... I think you'll find that the Merc remote filters, 'n the ole 470s, also use the standard Chevy filters,....

Diggin' into Wix listings, you can find various sizes of filters, with the chevy mounting plate, from 'bout a pint, to over a quart,....

Fram has many product lines of oil filters… I’d be comfortable with any of them except the entry level and I think the racing filter. I used the racing filter for years on my expensive race car engines but I think it sacrifices some filtration for increased flow.
