i recently bought a 1987 sunbird cosair and finally got it in the water and running after some maintnence . the first time i put in the water i figured out qiuck my impeller was bad . i pulled boat out and replaced it as instructions said to do . next time i put it in the water i ran for a while maybe 30 mins everything seemed ok and took boat out of the water. next weekend comes and i put boat in the water ran it a lil bit and notied a steady drip coming from bellows . didnt think much of it cause it wasnt coming in to fast drove boat another 30 mins and saw gear oil in the bilge . my question is that , is there anything i could have done by changing raw water intake impeller that could cause this to happen . i only think that because it wasnt leaking before the first time i put it in . if you have any suggestions are insight on diagnosing this problem i would greatly appreciate it. ive heared i could have a bellows leak which im pretty sure of now and gear oil could be coming from yoke seal or shift shaft seal . what about the seal i changed with the water impeller . the little o ring that transfers from upper to lower unit if that wasnt installed properly or something would it get into my bilge that way ?? thank you

Had the same issue this summer and it was the shaft seal . pul the drive and you'll know right off make sure you get all the tools for pressure test and vacum test before re-installing. Good luck
