its a 87 sea ray with the 3.0 mercrusier been running it for a couple months now this year with no proplems so far.we took the boat out and it ran good for about 15 20 min took a lap around the lake all was good i opend it up heading back to smoother water and it backfired out the carb then was good for 10 min or so then non stop backfiring almost dident make it to the dock.the only thing i can think of that i did is i left the key on the other day until the battery was dead and the coil got super hot maybe melted it down. any other ideas
