What is the 100 hour service requirements for the 2007 3.0 Mercruiser I/O? My dealer recommends also replacing the impeller (unsure of spelling( but adds another $200 to the service. I'm in fresh water, and use the boat about every 4 weeks or so. Very gentle driving. THoughts?

i don't know, but the service manual will state what needs servicing. it's probably a pretty long list of items to check. you can get likely get the service manual from here. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?p=1693398#post 1693398 maybe #26? not sure. i would guess that the pm list would at least be similar if not exact as to what needs servicing. if ya can't find the right s/m. you can get it from mercruiser too. confirm proper s/m by s/n.
THoughts?
doing pm on your boat will keep you boating instead of fixing when yer really wanting to be on the water. the service intervals and things to check are a good thing to do.

This is the list we start with. We add things as we work though it and find other small problems, before they become big problems.

Please don't think you can get away without doing this service just because you don't use the boat very much. There is an old adage you need to know

It's not using a boat that kills it, it's not using it that kills it.

Click here and you can download the OEM owners manual for your engine. It has the maintenance list in it.

As Chris said, that list is a starting point, and basically a MINIMUM needed for your engine and drive.
Impellers on the Gen II drives in fresh water can probably survive 5 years, but I don't think I would let mine go over 4. Bellows are usually good for 5 years, the price really goes up if they fail and you have to replace drive parts.
Things like pulling the outdrive and checking alignment is a yearly thing also. Again, cheaper than the alternative is something on the engine comes loose and you don't notice it till you have to pull the engine for coupler replacement.

Have a look around HERE you will probably find lots of information that may answer some questions you don't have yet.
