I was trying to find info on how to change my 3.0 harmonic balancer while in the boat. here is my plan.
1>Use a 7 foot long 4x4 with a eyelet across the gunwall and chains to hold engine hook.
2>unbolt the front engine mount from the bottom of the fiber glass and remove from engine.
3>rent puller and installer from autozone (and buy replacement)
I do not have a center bolt but I see bolt threads on the pulley.
Can anyone please comment on my plan. Will I mess it up unbolting the mount's?
Is it safe to run at all?
Thanks in advance.

Why would you want to do that? Do you have the manual?

1> REMOVE THE OUTDRIVE FIRST

Thanks for the replies. I looked into an engine hoist for 30 a day but not sure it would reach. wondering if the gun walls are strong enough. Not a fiberglass guy! lost an outdrive last week and replaced it with a beauty merc repower and noticed when the engine jerked around the motion transfers through the shaft. I imagine this movement is what fried my old SEI drive or at least contributed to it.

What no trees in your backyard with strong branches for a nylon sling, & comealong or chain hoist?

Sadly..no. No descent hangin trees. As I ponder what to do if notice there are no 3.0 auto equals out there. So looks like the ol sit and wait AND the $300 price tag. Checked compression for some reason 135 to 145 psi variance.Started her up on muffs and as it hits 1600 +rpm There is a noticeable rattle that seems to come from around the area. wonder how to test mounts. Still that darn wobble. Second pot of coffee. Anything else I need to do while I have it apart???

Everything worked great. The part got here today.. The 4x4 with a hook screw worked. Even able to raise it up to align the mounts by adjusting the nut I used the wood installer tool option. But I found the alternator bracket was another casualty of wobble. Still able to test it on muffs, No more wobble.
Happy boating!
