I have a 94 Bayliner rendezvous with a 3.0 mercruiser in it. I just did a total motor swap and I am trying to align the motor. I finally got all the nuts loose and the motor need to go down in the back. I have it all the way down and it still needs to go further. Am I missing something or did I not do something. While I had everything apart I replaced all bellows the shift cable and gimble bearing. I've done everything myself with help from here which has been amazing. I'm going on 3 months working on this and would like to get it in the water. I will attach a picture of the front mount to show it's all the way down. If I need to add another other pictures just let me know. Thanks so much

I'm sorry the back of the motor needs to go up so the front needs to go down. I'm getting grease on the top of the alignment tool. Sorry my brain is fried.

Can I add washers to in between the rear motor mount and where it attaches to the transom assembly? Maybe it's a dumb question but I've been trying to figure this out all night. I put my finger where I'm talking about in the picture.

If you have all the OEM hardware that is supposed to be there in the rear engine mounts, you should not need to do anything special like add washers.

It's the same engine dimensions/specs with the same mounting specifications. Unless the front motor mount was glassed in at the extreme edge of the min/max adjustment range causing fitment issues, then that mounting bracket surface height would need to be fixed on the boat structure.

Use the adjustment range given on the front motor mount for alignment, that's what it is there for.

Make sure that you don't bump washers/springs from their positions as you lower motor/bellhousing onto transom assembly. We did on my rebuild and couldn't see our screw ups due to tight engine room. My buddy didn't like having 600 # of metal hanging over his head as I lower motor. We could not get motor to align. We finally figured out a way.

I bought a motor but I only used the long block as it was a different set up than mine. I'm pretty sure nothing moved as it went in very well. I'm fortunate to have a large engine well. I put the washer down and slid the motor into it then put the bolts in with those spacers on top. It looks just like my buddies as he has the same motor.
