Not sure if motor is 2 or 4 stroke on 1982 135hp evinrude motor. The serial number is hard to read and my grandfather left it for me a couple years ago and i finally got around to getting it going this year. Any help is appreciated.

That is a 2 stroke and takes Twc 3 oil in a 50:1 ratio fuel/oil mixture.

Thanks i wasn't sure because i remember my grandfather telling me it used straight gas years ago but looking at the smaller phisical size for a 135hp i figured it was 2 stroke. Thanks again

You may want to double check the year of the engine. It may be older than you think. The last year they made a 135 crossflow was 1976. Do you have the model number off the serial plate?

The 74 135 was a strong engine in it's day. Before you put much $ into repairs, pull all the spark plugs out and do a compression test. Make sure the compression is solid before working on any repairs. The compression on that engine when new was probably around 130+ lbs on each cyl.
