270 exhaust flapper

Is there no solution to the $275 piece of rubber that is gone from one of my outdrives?
Volvo wants to replace the entire housing ,
I want to replace just the worn rubber piece
what is everyone else doing about this?

I tried the search function and really got little from it

Check eBay...I have seen used ones on there for a lot less than that.

if you are talking about the flapper on the exhaust outlet/tab I used 1/8" from Ace hardware cut to shape, works well.

i made a template from a thin plastic sheet, fitted the new rubber one then tested it in the water, only needed a slight trim to stop it from catching. I have been using it for about year now. Once you have the template made it only takes a couple of minutes to cut a replacement (if needed)

did you use the metal plate to hold it on?
Mine has been on two seasons now, no issues....

what the heck is that for 1.99??? i dont have a true value out here in liberalville california...

any help?? i need one bad.. i still have all my parts but the rubber broke at the bend..
