Any one out there with information on 260 hp mercruiser engines and v drives? Iam looking at 30 foot sea ray weekender with prop pockets and wonder what the down side of these boats might be. this model comes with 200 gal tanks, any body know what the fuel burn at cruise might be? or what the range might be? Thinking that this may be a better way to go rather than outdrives.I dont mind traveling south to buy one of these boats but wonder if the trip home to n.y. would be unrealistic with todays gas prices.I have made this trip 4 times but with a diesel.

Depends on how hard you push the engines as to how much she burns. A medium cruise will be around 20-25 gallons per hour. (Twins)<br />V-drives are ok...Hard to get to some of that stuff to work on in those crammped spaces.
