25HP on 12FT Tinny

Hello, just wondering if I would get away with putting a 25hp 2 stroke outboard on a 12ft aluminium tinny. Right now its just got a 15hp Johnson 4 stroke on it but I was wanting to get more power on it. The weight isn't going to be to much different but will there be to much power for it to handle. 12ftr probably isn't rated for a 25hp, there's a reason for that

Some semi-vee aluminum row boats are rated for 25HP. You might check your USCG rating.

A 25 weighs about 50lbs more than a 15....thats significant on a 12' tinner.....may turtle under if u had a big lunch.
