I have a 25hp Evinrude that loses power after running at full throttle for few seconds. Sometimes the motor will kill altogether and other times it will run at 1/2 power or less.

I have heard the problem could be fuel pump, carburetor, or fuel hose related...

Has anyone out there had a similar problem?

Incidentally, one thing I have noticed is that the primer bulb on the fuel hose does not stay hard. Is that normal? It seems to me that with other engines I have used it stays hard...

Thanks for any help...

Open the airscrew on the fuelcap? Or clean venthole? The bulb should stay hard othervise there is probably vacuum in the gastank.

Bear... Our tank does not have an airscrew on the fuel cap, but we always make sure to open the fuel cap to let air in.

Thanks

On some, it doesn't take much of a bit of debris in the float bowl to plug up a main jet. Then resettle after shotdown to do the same thing all over again.
