25hp alternator upgrade

I own a 2002 25hp johnson and I want to add alternator capabilties to the engine. I'm assuming it needs a rectifier and some wiring. I know kits are available but is it easy enough to install for a do it yourselfer?

You'll need at least a flywheel puller,but generally speaking the kit comes with good step by step instructions.Maybe some loctite.<br /><br />Is this a 2 or 3 cylinder motor?I thought all the 3 s were chargers.<br /><br />DHP

Thanks DHP for the info. It is a 2 cylinder model that comes with an AC lighting coil standard. If Ihave to pull the flywheel it will be no problem. I was more worried that the kit would come will limited or no instructions designed for a dealer only install.
