Ok I recently purchased a 1990 250 sundancer and am in the market for a trailer. Is there anyone on here that has a 250 sundancer that can give me some information pertaining to the bunk adjustments, like what size bunks they use, how much space is between them and such things as these?
Thanks again guys

I think the bunk setup is different for each boat. You will have to figure it out. With that said make sure you get a trailer that is rated for that boat. Look at the actual trailer specs. My 25 bayliner cruiser is about 7K dry. I did a quick google search and saw 5500lbs for that boat. I think I would look around more before I accepted that. It seams kinda light to me.

Well as far as the weight goes, I do know for a fact that the dry weight is 5100 pounds. I was just hoping that someone that has the same boat as I do could help me out before I go all the way up there in the spring to pick it up.

5100 dry and empty, assume close to 6500 wet and with gear.

as far as spacing, you could contact searay and they can probably help.

Ok, 5100 dry + 450 pounds, full tank of gas @ 6.1 pounds per gallon * 75 gallons= 450 pounds. 5600 pounds. I should be ok with right around 6000 pounds with a full tank of gas in her. I wont have 500 pounds of gear in her, lol.

Well just make sure you don't waste money on a trailer that will not hold the boat properly. I would think a 24 year old boat would have gained a few lbs due to wet foam or some things that the other owner added. Any rate if you google trailer bunk setup you will get lots of threads including ones on this site that go over it.

Ok, I just pulled the trigger on purchasing a new to me 87 sea ray sundancer 268 with the 7.4 mercruiser in her.

less than a year later, you purchased a smaller/newer Sea Ray, what happened to the 268 ???

Make sure you add in the weight of the trailer.

Re: 250 sundancer trailer specs

ALSO add the weight of batteries, oil, coolant if closed, water, waste, any optional accessories if equipped like microwave, generator, refrigerator, inverter, stereo, anchor, bow pulpit, canvas, etc... it ALL counts and adds up fast

Understand that boats often get heavier with age as well as moisture creeps into the wood parts of the hull.

That boat MIGHT be ok on a 7k lb gross trailer BUT there is a fair chance that you need a 10k trailer

The only way to be sure is to weigh it
