25 merc 4 stroke 2007 wont start with electric starter

This motor starts first or second pull. Runs well when started. Power tilt works at all times. When I try to start it using the electric starter, there is a click, sometimes a small whine (1/2 second long) and the console lights dim. Battery replaced and no help. this started and at first was once then everything was fine. then 50/50, now 100% not working. I replaced battery at that point and now with both batteries ( fully charged) it will not start except by pull start. Thoughts on what might have happened?

You need to check the wiring/connections to the battery. You may have some corrosion on the terminals or something like that. All wiring needs to be checked from the battery to the solenoid and then to the starter.

Could also be the starter is bad.
