I have a 2001 25hp johnson, tiller steer, elec. start. I had to move the starter/ starter bracket in order to get the carb. off. like an idiot i forgot to disconnect the battery before messing with the starter. I disconnected the starter cable and the bolts that mount the starter bracket to the engine block, moved it out of the way and took off the carb. When I was bolting the starter bracket back in place there was a spark from the positive connection on the soelenoid which caused some visable damage to the starter to soelenoid cabe. After i got it all back together i had no juice at all, like the battery wasent even hooked up. After replaceing the damaged cable and having the soelenoid bench tested still nothing. What did i do to this thing? can anyone help? Thanks

Will the starter crank when you jump it directly with the battery?

Not familiar with this engine but is there a fuse somewhere under cowl that may be blown?
