I own a '84? merc 25 hp. Today I went to pull start the motor and the cord broke. I repaired the cord but the problem I have now is that there is an extra foot of cord. The new cord was cut a little shorter than the old one, but I think there is a problem with a spring that is not pulling the cord back into the cover. please help.
