I have a 1985 merc 25 hp that seems to get real short of fuel at high speed after about a minute or two. When the motor is starting to balk at high speed, I can squeeze the fuel bulb and it takes right off again. I replaced the fuel line from the tank to the motor and also cleaned out the fuel filter. Am I looking at a fuel pump now?? Thanks.

Sounds like a weak diaphram in the fuel pump. You may also want to check to vent on the tank. If its clogged, your fuel pump will be fighting the vaccuum in the tank and you may be getting fuel starvation at the higher rpms.
Hope this helps...

Hey, Greg. The fuel pump seems the most likely suspect, but there are other possibles: restricted pickup inside your tank or restricted tank vent. There are also some long shots that prevent the fuel pump from getting full pressure/vacuum pulses from the crankcase. You aren't likely to do any harm by putting a kit in the fuel pump, but check your tank pickup and venting first.
Good luck.
JB
