25 hp Johnson seahorse. what year is it ? :confused:

Hi,<br />I just got a 25 hp Johnson seahorse outboard motor<br />& need a few parts for it.<br />I need to find out the year it was made?<br />The model number is: #25R78C & serial number is: #E4868726<br />I also would like to know if a longshaft kit is available for it? if so where could I get the parts?<br /><br />Thank you.<br />Captain Nappy

Your motor is a 1978 model and I believe there is a long shaft that is optional.I know they are listed for 1980 models but not sure on the 1978.
