Hello,

I have a rebuilt engine 2002/2003 with a 2015(+-) powerhead. After running out of gas and bringing it home to look at, I found it is leaking gas when I pump the priming bulb. I've attached some pictures and circled where the leak is coming out of.

If someone can point me in the right direction? There is only a serial number on the powerhead sticker but I havent found a serial number to use that matches the engine lookup guide in the faq. Is this some kind of gasket for the carburetor?

Usually that would mean that your float needle valve isn’t seating or sealing properly. Either that or your carb gasket has lost its seal or been nipped. Take the carb off again and look her over again. If you don’t see anything obvious with the gasket out of place, then check the float needle is sealing when in the up position.

I used the engine for about 6 hours before this started happening, as I just bought the boat a few weeks ago. I need to figure out what parts to buy.

Does anyone have an idea what such a repair may cost at a shop?

Hi. Can happen at anytime really. Could also be the fuel pump compromised. But most times this happens, it’s just crap causing the float valve to not seal or even stick the float. Takes 10 mins to check. Simple enough to check and even simpler if you find it’s just a gasket
