23’ Steiger Craft Block Island

Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Patrick and im redoing some of a 1988 Steiger. She is getting all new wiring, deck, fuel tank, steering, bracket and outboard. Shes my second Steiger. The boat came out of Long Island. She was purchased without her i/0. When complete McKaylee will be fishing mostly out of Point Judith, RI. We target mostly taget striped bass, tuna and shark. She was purchased shortly before covid hit. Feb 2020 - current I have got as much work done as possible. Including 75% of the deck, tabbing, fuel tank, pumps, livewell, raw water washdown, and hopefully a couple of things that i am forgetting. Thank you to the guys providing all of this awesome info. I am always open to suggestions. Patrick

Finished mine a couple of year back. All new thru-hulls, plumbing, electronics and lighting systems. Almost time to sell and start over again....lol

Hahaha! I hear you. I get to play with power tools all day. Plumbing and heating for 20+ years. I plan on keeping her for a long time. These steigers are laid up right. Al steiger is a good guy and will return your phone call. I was having a tough time with justifying the pricing of a slightly used 23 steiger or something similarly built. This was a year ago when used boats actually existed.

I have only fished that area for about 2 years but we fished block hard last year. Seabass and striped bass. We missed tog fishing. I grew up fishing cape cod bay and cape cod canal. What are you usually targeting while fishing? Big blues out by block island too. I personally dont eat them but they put up a great fight

Have caught Blues and was out there for the fair haven firefighters fishing tournament couple years back caught a stripper that just under 23 pounds took second place in the tournament in the striper category.
