I have a new 2010 Yamaha 225 HPDI Series 3 only 12 hours on the motor with a starting problem. Here is the issue on 3 trips of the last 5 sometime throughout the day it will not start for up to 5 to 15 minutes except to the last time. I had just put the boat in started no problem backed off the trailer and put it on the ramp turned it off parked the truck pushed the boat back off the ramp and wouldn't you know it will not start. After 45 minutes of trying finally put back on the tailer and now waiting to take back to the dealership. The first time at the dealership they said it was a voltage problem so they replaced the cranking battery. Work one trip ok, now the last 2 the same old problem anyone heard of this is it common on this motor first time Yamaha guy.

Thanks

It's brand new and under warranty. Take it back to the dealer and get if fixed.
If they can't fix it, call Yamaha and get the service rep out there to check it out. It's what they do.

I am with DonS
use the yamaha dealer locator function.
try to find a dealership in your area that employs a yamaha master tech.
when you say it wont start that can mean a lot of things.
when you turn the key to on do the gauges power up?
do they power down when you turn the key to start?
does the engine do anything when the key is turned to start?
these are questions you should be asked, if not tell them anyay.
very doubtful its a yamaha issue most likly a rigging issue or your not putting it back to N every time.
