225 Four stroke low pressure fuel pump

I have this 225 2003 that will run if you pump the primer bulb, but not without. I tested the low pressure fuel pump by direct wiring it. When I turn on the key, the pump does not engage. Is there a relay that controls the pump or is it ECM controlled?

both, the pump driver supplys the 12v positive the ecm controls the ground,the high pressure pump will run about 5 seconds at key on the low pressure does not.
below 1200 RPM the low pressure pump runs 10 seconds on then 20 seconds off.

Yea, your'e correct. I read up a little more and found that out about the pump, and it does come on after starting. I haven't tried yet, but tomorrow I,m going to see if it is running constantly above the 1200 rpm point. I thing that is the problem. I also priced the driver and whew it sure is pricey. Thanks for the reply.
