Hey everyone!
New go iboats, been around small watercraft for the last few years. Have 2 current boats, I'm needing help with the 2nd...
Boat 1: 1970's Sangster 17 foot deep V with a Johnson 70 outboard. This has been our main boat for the last 3-4 years for fishing and has held up pretty good, done regular maintenance and the odd fixes here and there (just replaced the CDI last month)
But we just picked up this big beautiful boat....
Boat 2 : 1980?? StarCraft Islander v5, 22 foot, cuddy cabin, and I think a 5.7L engine and Volvo Penta leg.
I have zero background info on this boat, got it from an auction.
This is our current project for the winter. It's in good shape overall, but does need some work. She does turn over so the engine isn't seized (I blipped the starter solenoid). I do have key on power, but no crank when key is in start position.
When key is in run, and I blip starter, have no spark from distributor. Any tips here?
I'm pretty handy with a wrench and can figure out how to fix most things (with enough time). The issue I have is I have no info on the boat, and am not familiar with inboard/outboard setups that much. Can anyone help identify the engine and the leg? I can attach more photos.photos.
Thanks in advance!!
