21' wellcraft excel volvo penta 430 need info

I just purchased a 1992 wellcraft excel bowrider with a volvo penta 430 i don't know anything about maintenece and care for my new boat can anyone share some info. i would like to know how to change engine and bottom end oil and if there are any common problems i should be awear of

Welcome to iboats I would suggest that you get a service manual for your new boat.....I am not a Volvo guy so I really can't be of much help......Others with similar set-ups will be along with advice......Get a manual though .....It will be the best tool in your box.......Try stemtostern.com....Avoid Clymer's or Seloc if you can......JK

Voice of (bad) experience.
Original risers and manifolds failed with catastrophic results to top and bottom end. New motor is on the to do list.
Suggest you check them very carefully.

That is a problem with boat motors in general and is not a Volvo only problem. Mercs, OMC, Yamaha's, all use the same 4.3 Chevy engine, and all have manifold and riser failures and they all loose engines because of it.
