Help!!!!

I don't know where to start.

The transom isn't terribly rotted or anything, but has a good amount of flex.

Has a 115 1978? Johnson attached.

Thanks

Re: 21' Starcraft CC 1976? transom repair

I did one of these last year. check for rot along the sides of the transom,at the top where it meets the gunwale. Thats where mine was rotted the most. Start by finding some 3/4 treated or marine plywood . One 4 by 8 sheet will do. If you use treated try to find some thats as dry as possible. Marine is preferrable. Remove all the screws, bolts, and other hardware that holds the old transom in. If you have access to a 'cherry picker' engine puller that makes the job much easier. I used two long eye bolts at opposite sides and attached a strap to them. as you are pulling out the old transom try to keep it as intact as possible. you can use it as a template for your new transom. I will post more this evening but this will get you started. This is not as difficult as it seems, but if done right will last another 33 years. Good luck.
